Famous huqin and guqin virtuoso who obtained a Bachelor degree in huqin and guqin and a Master degree in huqin at Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Relocated to Hong Kong in 2008 and was employed by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra as Co-Principal Huqin, Principal Erhu, Principal Gaohu and Guqin Soloist. She has gone on tour to more than 20 nations in Europe, Asia and North America. She is now the director of Rhythmic East Arts Group, teacher of HKAPA Master’s degree, member of Shanghai Musician Association.
Dick obtained a Master of Music degree at HKAPA. He received training in various kinds of huqin under Cheung Hiu-fai, Chan Yiu-sing, Prof Wang Guotong, Prof Yu Qiwei and Zhang Chongxue. He was the concertmaster of the Yao Yueh Chinese Music Association and the Academy Chinese Orchestra, Zhonghu Principal of the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, and a member of the Hong Kong Huqin Ensemble, Goin’ Music. He has performed in many regions such as Australia, Finland, Russia, Sochi, South Korea, Singapore, mainland China, Taiwan and Macao. He is currently the Gaohu Assistant Principal at Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.
Ken studies compoisition with Ms. Tsang Lai-ming. He obtained a Bachelor of Music with a major in Composition and Electronic Music under Prof. Clarence Mak. He went to Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, studying composition under Prof. Li Bin-yang, orchestration under Prof. Chen Yong-gang, contemporary music techniques under Prof. Guo Xin, and conducting under Prof. Ma Shuai.
Joshua received training from Masaru Uchibori, Gordon Goodwin and Nicholas Bouloukos in jazz arrangement and had undertaken the tutelage of Bob Mocarsky and Allen Youngblood in jazz piano. His works had been used by the La Sax Hong Kong The Saxophone Ensemble, the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra, the Vocal Jazz Tribe, the Ensemble Thirteen of Ensemble Transience, the Youth Jazz Collective, the Rootless Voyagers and the FTLO Big Band for their concerts. He also plays as jazz pianist in various arts scenes.
Tommy studied the Diploma of Music Performance at Musicians Institute (USA) majored in Drum Set. He is currently the drummer of UCHU YUREI and Sea of Tranquility. He has performed in various regions such as Japan and Taiwan. He has been active in many music festivals such as Freespace Jazz Festival and HKT x WESTK POPFEST.
Pui-kuen obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree at HKAPA, majored in Erhu and Banhu. He received training of various kinds of huqin under the tutelage of Ms. Fok Mei-ling, Mr. Ngai Kwun Wa, Ms. Zhang Chongxue, Prof. Yu Qiwei and Ms. Jessie Hou. He also pursued postgraduate training from Prof. Lui Kwan-on and Wong Chi-chung. He was a full-time huqin virtuoso at Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra nad performed in many regions such as Mainland China, Taiwan and Canada.
Ka-lok obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree at HKAPA, majored in Erhu and Banhu. He received training of various kinds of huqin under the tutelage of Ms. Mao Qinghua, Mr. Ngai Kwun Wa, Ms. Jessie Hou and Prof. Liu Chang-fu. He had exchanged to Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He is currently a part-time huqin virtuoso at Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, virtuoso-in-residence at Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, guest virtuoso at Macao Chinese Orchestra.
Po-man obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree at HKAPA, majored in Erhu under tutelage of Ms. Zhang Chongxue and minored in Gaohu under tutelage of Prof. Yu Qiwei. She received training of various kinds of huqin from Mr. Cheung Hiu-fai, Mr. Ngai Kwun Wa, Mr. Chan Iu Seng and Prof. Gao Shaoqing. She has performed for Macao Chinese Orchestra, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, Music Office Tutor Orchestra, HKAPA Orchestra, Hong Kong Taoist Orchestra, Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra and Yao Yueh Chinese Music Association in various regions such as Singapore, Philippines, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macao.
Ho-yan studied the Bachelor of Music programme at HKAPA with a pipa major under the tutelage of Ms. Zhang Ying. She also studied pipa in the Music Office with Li Ping since age eight. She was the champion of advanced pipa solo competition at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and received the Outstanding Performance Award at the Pipa International Festival in Liaoyuan, etc.
Gisela obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree at HKAPA, majored in Zhoungraun and Liuqin under tutelage of Prof. Lui Kwan-on, and minored in Pipa under tutelage of Ms. Zhang Ying. She received training of various kinds of huqin from Mr. Cheung Hiu-fai, Mr. Ngai Kwun Wa, Mr. Chan Iu Seng and Prof. Gao Shaoqing. She is the section principal for the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra.
Kam-hong received training of Pipa from Mr. Ng Chiu-shing and Zhoungraun from Mr. Lam Kam Hei. He obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree at HKAPA, majored in Zhoungraun under tutelage of Sebastien Lai Ka-tai, minored in Pipa under tutelage of Ms.Zhang Ying.
Justin had been trained in the traditional music instrument Ruan under the tutelage of Mr. Kwok Kin-ming in Music Office and Prof. Lui Kwan-on at HKAPA. He is the award winner of the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund Scholarship on Outstanding Performance (2018–22), as well as the section principal for the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra. He has performed in various regions such as Singapore, Shanghai, Xinyang, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Eaton has been participating in various jazz big bands and ensemble groups, such being as the key figure of ‘Kong U Big Band’ and ‘Rootless Voyagers’, as well as involving in ‘FTLO Big Band’, ‘Ensemble Transience The Ensemble Thirteen’, and ‘Jazz In The Neighborhood’. His significant jazz concerts includes ‘Rootless Voyagers’ in West Kowloon Cultural District Livehouse and ‘New Generations – Women in Jazz’ in Tsuen Wan Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall (2022), ‘Freespace Jazz Fest’ in West Kowloon Cultural District Freespace (2020), ‘Composition & Improvisation: Chaorder Summer Concert’ in Hong Kong Arts Centre Shouson Theatre (2019) and more.
